Posting this for a couple of reasons:
Look, when I was eleven I liked G.I. Joe — The toys large and small, the TV show, the lunchboxes, the comics you name it — as much as anyone reading this. But I can’t think of any possible way this movie won’t be completely asinine. (Sorry, Naz.)
Movie people: new ideas, please.
Reviews of three movies now on HBO On Demand. With specific reference to how good they are to use for background noise while painting.
Please stand in awe of this amazing collection of crocheted* creatures. And take special note of this, this, and this.
(Oh, and also this.)
*Ok, fine, they’re knitted. So sue me.
I so want to go to New Zealand when they are done thawing and displaying the big one.
I got completely out of my muxtape groove. I’m sure you have all been dying for me to update so here’s my half-assed best.
Because I’ve been on this weird Bhangra kick (which has only been exacerbated by daily-at-least playings of the new Firewater) I thought I might do an all-foreign-origin Mux. But soon realized I don’t really have the library to back that up if I’m going to do one song per album. So I slowly expanded it to anything that had even a vaguely non-western vibe to it. And then ended it with a crazy thing from Allen Ginsburg just because.
A half-assed review of Iron Man and also some snarking at other movies based only on their trailers.
“Say, did you know that people who design web sites who write on their own sites about the changes they’ve recently made to their site design have no idea whatsoever that you couldn’t give a flying roll of monkey doughnuts? Bless their little cotton socks.”
We suspected before but I guess we know for sure now.
BTW, I changed the default link color from #cc6600 to #cc9933 because that’s the kind of judgment call you have to make every day here in the big leagues.
Every damn day.
I’ve had a frustrating, infuriating afternoon.
I vented some of this frustration via Twitter.
Within the hour no fewer than three different people had expressed an interest in helping me out.
This is what the internet is for.
If you are the noticing type, I’m sure you noticed that No Commercial Potential looks pretty substantially different than it did on, say, last Thursday. Here’s some why and also a tiny bit of how.
